Language Review Services

VistaTEC’s Language Review Services addresses the localization market’s increasing demand for independent language review of localized content. Many companies have battled with translation delays while waiting for feedback from their in-country offices; these offices generally do not have dedicated staff or professional linguists available to give the translations immediate attention.

Even companies that have long-standing relationships with their LSPs (Localization Service Providers) are finding that 3rd party review by a professional source enhances overall language quality.

VLRS is a separate Business Unit with its own project managers and language resources. Central to its structure is the notion of autonomy and professional objectivity. Linguists are individually chosen from a pool of independent professionals uniquely vetted for this service. Clients are invited and encouraged to play an active role in the selection process. One of the prerequisites is that selected reviewers have no affiliation with any of the language partners or LSPs that carried out the localization work. In essence our reviewers become resources at the disposal of our clients, but managed by the VLRS team of project managers. It is essential to the credibility of our service that each translation is reviewed on its own merits irrespective of its origins; indeed the measure of VLRS’ success lies in how fairly and objectively it audits all translations.

VLRS goes beyond evaluating a translation for technical accuracy; web content, marketing material and multimedia productions must convey the right message. Reviewers take ownership of maintenance of style guides and are involved in terminology and glossary decisions. They can be available to answer queries and discuss problems specific to their language, on behalf of the client. The teams attend frequent training sessions and work transparently with our clients to ensure that they have an inherent understanding of how the final localized content reflects the company’s culture, message and/or product.
